Memories...

exploring...
releasing...
understanding...
learning...
responding...
to memories.

Today, I am aware of memories...and how I respond to them. How they can take me to places and bring me both happiness and sadness. Today, I am aware of memories and by exploring them I begin to release some...I begin to come to acknowledge them so that they will either become a part of me or I allow them to be released bringing me an inner peace. Today, I am aware of memories...some of which I may feel are negative and I try to avoid them in order to protect myself...and yet I know that by responding to these memories with courage...with love ...with understanding it gives me the ability to see them in a different light...with new eyes...with lessons learned ...with a positive aspect. Today, I am aware of memories...and today, I am more willing to respond to them with growth...with understanding...with love...with courage as I make new memories and reach for new dreams.
Artfully Yours,
Pattie

PS: What memories can you learn from or let go of today?

As I was dealing with a work situation yesterday, and resolved it in a way that shone a positive light on the person who was causing my distress but at the same time I did what I needed to do for myself, I "remembered" where I actually learned how to dance that dance. It was a good memory that I will hang on to. My mom taught me that to get what we need sometimes being gracious and allowing the other person a face saving way out is the best way to go. It's not about having the whole world see that you're "right" or to shine a neon lantern pointing to the flaws in another, but rather to get what you need in a way that is respectful and solved in a positive manner. I did a little soul excavation, looked back and remembered how my mom taught me that by watching her deal with so many difficult people over the years. She was a great teacher EVEN with all her own flaws! I choose not to remember the times when she was less than I wanted her to be. She always did encourage us to dream!

Pattie, your mandalas are so unique! Do I say that everytime? lol This is a beautiful thought and I love Luna's additional memory, too, and will remember it when I am faced with that sort of situation.

I have forgotten many things in my childhood, intentionally, but I have wonderful memories of my grandparents and their ability to make each of their many grandchildren feel as if we were the favorite. We were each loved in an individual way. There was always room in their hearts to love more people.

That is a legacy I desire to continue!
